World War II Scrapbook from the Caribbean

Overview

This collection contains a scrapbook of a World War II soldier's servicedays in the Caribbean area including Trinidad, Barbados, and Puerto Rico. The scrapbook includes approximately 200 photographs. Included are scenes of soldiers on base, their barracks, and funerals alongside images of entertainment such as night clubs, sports, and variety shows.

Writers in the Library Posters

Writings of Katherine Keogh White

Yazoo Land Deed

This 1797 land deed concerns the land purchase of 20,000 acres of land surrounding a portion of the Tennessee River. The land indenture between the sellers, Zachariah Cox and Matthias Maher, and the buyer, John Sevier, details the portion of land that Sevier purchased.

Yee-Haw Industries Poster Collection

This collection consists of event posters from in and around the Knoxville area from the 2000s created by Yee-Haw Industries. The topics of the events range from art, film, food, music, promotional events, special events, and theatre. The collection also contains magnesium alloy and linoleum letterpress printing plates which were used to create many of the event posters in the collection.

Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor Scrapbook

A scrapbook containing articles from the Knoxville (TN) News Sentinel concerning local branches of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor (YPSCE). Walter C. Johnson, Sr., board member of the Knoxville branch, put the book together. The articles cover a variety of topics but mainly discuss the YPSCE convention held in Washington, DC in July 1896.

YWCA Tribute to Women Program
